Second largest city in the Alpes-Maritimes department, Antibes Juan-les-Pins has a long and rich history that is reflected in its architecture. Antibes has been an important coastal town since before the Romans and its superb natural port and key location near Italy have contributed to its cultural pre-eminence. There are many museums, cultural centres and historical sites scattered throughout the city that testify to the 2 600 stories that have been told about Antibes over the years.
